Booking
How far in advance should I post my job?
Sitters apply to most single jobs within an hour. We recommend posting jobs no more than two weeks in advance. Posting too far in advance decreases consistency as sitters tend to make their schedules about a week in advance.
Can I book the same sitter for multiple days each week?
Yes. Get Sitter Pass and select "Recurring Job" when posting your job. Set a competitive hourly rate to attract qualified applicants. Sitters apply to jobs based on hourly rate, location, and availability. Most recurring jobs pay higher hourly rates than single jobs.
How likely am I to get the same sitter for each job?
Consistency is important to everyone. Many sitter schedules change each semester due to class schedules, extracurricular activities, and other babysitting jobs. Increase the likelihood of booking a consistent sitter by:
- Reviewing sitters and selecting Favorites after each job. Favorite sitters are notified first when your family posts a job.
- Be kind. Surveyed sitters reported “kindness” as the thing they value most.
- Post jobs at least two days in advance.
Can I interview my sitter before booking?
Yes. To interview a sitter, book the sitter for at least one job. Once you have booked the sitter, use chat to request a phone or virtual interview. If it's not a fit, cancel the job or contact Support for assistance.
How can I ensure sitters will apply to my job?
Sitter applications depend on availability, hourly rate, location - and how far in advance you post the job. Post jobs in advance and/or increase your hourly rate to attract applicants.
How long will it take for sitters to apply to my job?
Depending on the details of your job, sitters may apply within minutes. Recurring jobs often require more time for sitters to check their schedules. Check the status of your jobs at any time on your Upcoming Jobs in the app. Turn notifications on to be kept informed about applicants.
